Claire Lugton

Chief Operating Officer

Claire was born with Real Estate in her blood.

Her Grandfather started Lugtons Real Estate in Hamilton in 1955 and that business has grown over the years to be one of the largest and most successful Real Estate companies in the Waikato.

Claire learnt the business at a very young age, accompanying her Dad into the office on Saturday mornings from the age of 5, and then as a teenager painting the posts for the For Sale signs and hand delivering marketing postcards around Hamilton suburbs.

Claire left Hamilton to attend Otago University and spent the next 12 years working in sales and marketing roles in the Food Industry both in NZ and overseas. Her last 5 years were working for Fonterra, in NZ and the USA, looking after their key clients.

In 2008 Claire decided it was time to return to her family business and moved back to Hamilton to learn the ropes. After her first year selling, Claire was awarded the REINZ Award of Excellence for Most Promising New Salesperson and she continued to go on and sell successfully for the next 3 years.

She then moved into Sales Management and managed 2 of the Lugtons 6 sales offices, 1 of those offices consistently winning Lugton’s Top Office Award annually.

She took on the role of Recruitment Director and loved the opportunity to meet new potential salespeople, bringing them into the Lugtons business and helping them create prosperous careers by creating an extensive induction training program and with on-going coaching and mentoring.

As Claire and her Brother took over the running of the Lugton’s business in 2015, they made their stamp by creating new systems and processes that helped streamline the business and developed superior marketing material to help their clients achieve the best possible outcome with the sale of their property.

It's no surprise that Claire is obsessed with property and has been lucky enough over the years to purchase, renovate and sell a few homes of her own.

In late 2020 Claire decided it was time to move back to Auckland and started to look for a company to work for that had the same values and desire to help their clients achieve their property goals.

As soon as she met Gower, the Managing Director of Ray White Damerell Group, she knew this was where she wanted to continue her Real Estate journey.

She is thrilled to be back in Ponsonby, where she previously lived for 10 years, and is excited to work with and help further grow this world class Real Estate team.
